The service receives air raid alert data from the official ukrainealarm.com API and uses AI to analyse Ukrainian Air Force messages, detecting active threats — drones, missiles, guided bombs and ballistics. Everything appears on the map in real time, roughly 25 seconds after the official message is published.

Which aerial threat types does the map show?

The map shows all major aerial threat types: strike drones (Shahed, Gerbera), reconnaissance drones (Orlan), cruise missiles (Kalibr, Kh-101), ballistic missiles (Iskander, Kinzhal, S-300/400), guided aerial bombs (KAB), and strategic carrier takeoffs (MiG-31K, Tu-95).

Why is the trajectory towards my city not a straight line?

For drones and cruise missiles we draw a Bézier curve — a simplified visualization of real flight, which is rarely straight (objects weave to evade air defence). If the exact target is unknown (only the oblast is known), a three-ray cone is drawn — an honest visualization of uncertainty. Ballistic missiles are always drawn straight, since they physically fly a ballistic trajectory.

How often is the data updated?

The page automatically checks for new data every 2 seconds (event-driven architecture with server-sent ETags). New events from the Air Force Telegram channel appear on the map about 25 seconds after publication.

Is there a mobile app?

There is no separate mobile app yet, but the site is fully responsive for phones and tablets. You can add it to your home screen — it works as a PWA.

Tryvoha.online — Real-time air raid alert map of Ukraine

Tryvoha is an independent, non-commercial data visualization project that presents air alerts and publicly reported aerial threats across Ukraine through a live map and historical timeline. The interactive map shows active air raid alerts by oblast and district, along with routes of kamikaze drones (Shahed, Gerbera), cruise missiles (Kalibr, Kh-101), ballistic missiles (Iskander, Kinzhal), guided aerial bombs (KAB) and other aerial threats.

How it works

Alert data comes from the official ukrainealarm.com API and is corroborated by messages from the official Ukrainian Air Force Telegram channel (kpszsu). An AI (LLM) analyses message text in real time and extracts structured events: threat type, oblast, movement direction, launch point. Geocoding converts place names into coordinates, and markers animate across the map with realistic trajectories (smooth curves for drones, straight lines for ballistics, a cone for uncertain targets).

How to read the map

Oblasts with an active air raid alert are shaded red. Districts under alert are orange. Markers visualize reported locations, movement directions and estimated trajectories based on open-source information; a dashed line traces the estimated route from launch point to target. Event TTL depends on type: drones stay visible up to 2 hours, cruise missiles 25 minutes, ballistic missiles 8 minutes (they arrive fast). A cone instead of a straight line means an uncertain target (a threat to the whole oblast rather than a specific city).
